近日，国家自然科学基金“外国学者研究基金项目”评审结果公布，由我校会计学院教师Yasir Shahab博士主持申报的项目“Environmental protection and restoration: Evidence from green mergers and acquisitions in China”（环境保护与恢复：中国绿色并购的证据）获批立项。这是我校在国家自然科学基金项目上首个获批的外国学者研究项目。

Yasir博士现为我校会计学院教师、现代审计与绩效管理研究中心和Accountaholics核心科研团队成员、审计专业硕士研究生导师。此前曾在ABS-4、ABS-3和JCR-Q1排名杂志上发表过多篇论文，包括British Journal of Management，International Review of Financial Analysis, Business Strategy and the Environment, International Journal of Finance and Economics等。现任西京学院会计学院核心研究团队带头人，曾获“西京学院高层次人才基金”。他还担任International Review of Financial Analysis, Economic Modelling, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Applied Economics等多家期刊审稿人。

Good news Won National Project

Our School of Accounting has won the very first national project from National Natural Science Fund of China in the field of accounting and finance.

Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China announced the evaluation results of the major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China including “Research Fund for International Young Scientists”. The project proposal entitled “Environmental protection and restoration: Evidence from green mergers and acquisitions in China” declared by our foreign faculty member Dr Yasir Shahab was approved under the major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and will be provided with a funding of 200,000 RMB from state council and 240,000 RMB from Xijing University. This is the first major national project won by our accounting school and also it is the first national project won by a foreign faculty member. We express our heartiest gratitude to Dr Yasir for his extraordinary achievement as very few international projects (3-4) are approved every year from all over the China in the field of accounting and finance. Moreover, being a private university, it is very tough to win national projects.

Personal Profile

Dr Yasir Shahab, an Associate Professor and supervisor for graduate programs at the School of Accounting, Xijing University, has completed his PhD back in June 2018 from University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Business Management with specialization in accounting and finance.

Dr Yasir has previously published a number of papers in ABS-4, ABS-3 and JCR-Q1 ranked journals, including in British Journal of Management, International Review of Financial Analysis, Business Strategy and the Environment, International Journal of Finance and Economics, among others. He is currently leading the Core Research Team of the School of Accounting and has been awarded “Funds for High-Level Talents of Xijing University”. He is also working as a reviewer for different ABS-ranked academic journals, e.g., International Review of Financial Analysis, Economic Modelling, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Applied Economics, among others. Dr Yasir is striving hard to further improve the research culture at Xijing University via quality research projects, top ranked publications and collaborations with internationally renowned researchers from all over the world.
